Seven Dials - Shop Front Window Graphics

Ok, so it's been a very long time since i've updated my blog! 3 months have flown by!!

I've been a busy designer!! I've now managed to get some work in a design studio up London, and am working on a lot of projects ranging from branding, instillations, invitations and shop front window graphics.

This is one I'm most proud of, as it is going to be seen my hundreds of people everyday, and it's on such a big scale... a very simple and minimal design. Sticking to brand guidelines, with typeface and colour palette. From artworking this project, to seeing the photographs...feels good :)

Seven Dials, Covent Gardens, West London

Get down to Seven Dials and check it out for yourself! http://www.sevendials.co.uk/

I'll be uploading more of my recent work within the next few weeks :)

Business Card - Amir Khan

Ok, so I know it hasn't really got much to do with design or graphic design...BUT, I met Amir Khan (British professional boxer) the other day up London and he signed his autograph on my business card!! I will forever keep this...he's such a nice guy as well :)

New Designers 2012 - Part 2

University of Hertfordshire exhibiting at New Designers and i'm among the lucky graduates that made it :)

New Designers was an amazing experience, seeing all the creative, innovative design work by graduates around the UK; all under one roof. University of Hertfordshire grabbed a lot of attention as out stand was full of amazing creativity, and a fellow student studying Graphic Design won an award and made our uni proud! Congrats to Tyler Scott!

A photograph from New Designers themselves, showcasing a few of the visual communication pieces. You can see my 'Back to Square One' artist book in the photo which i'm happy about :)

Self Promotion

Here is the branding of my self promotion. I have used Gill Sans typeface as my surname is Gill..yes I know, what a gift!! :)

Nice, clean and simple design for the business card. Red compliments the typeface well and works reversed out as well. Simple hierarchy used to set headings, along with body text and extra information.

Check out my website for the finished stationary set. http://www.sukvirgill.co.uk/

That's Impressive - Letterpress Postcards

Designed/printed by Glasgow Press.

A series of letterpressed postcards that promote the use of letterpress. The cards have song lyrics from Glasgow based bands. They are lush to look at and feel very nice; without a doubt a nice collectable item to have as a graphic designer. Everything was printed on GFSmith paper stock, some were duplexed and one was even triplexed.

The wax seal was also a very nice to see; it added that special touch which makes the whole design come to life...beautifully executed and something I'm sure every designer would want to own. It's on a limited run, so you should get yours asap from http://www.glasgowpress.co.uk/
